Oct 8.
Falling behind again. Today my feet still hurt, but considerably less than yesterday, which is a start. I think that this feet thing was the real pilgrimage. It has made me appreciate a correctly functioning body. I am very thankful to only have minor health issues (some of which I have brought on myself like walking 37 miles). The past couple days I have woken up and wondered how I will make it through the day (cant not go anywhere, but cant go anywhere without it hurting.)…one step at a time. Literally. So things are thankfully healing up…and I can make it to a hobble without grimacing in pain. My host sister has nicknamed me tortuga since I cant walk fast…which has been another good lesson. I should take time and smell the roses or walk a bit slower once and a while. Other than my feet, things are good. Today I went to casa del NiƱo and we made cereal bars, we are trying to incorporate healthier ingredients but the kids didn’t really like them as pure sugar. The governor of the proviencia of Buenos aires visited Florencia Verela…or cereal bars were abandoned to see the governor. Went to Spanish class slowly but surely and we did some review for the final which will be next week. AHH! Then I had a coffee with some people from my class. South Korea, Japan, Germany, Slovika and the US were represented. Came home and tried to do my homework, then got distracted by a skpye call, and then other random things (I ended up barely getting my homework done). Ate dinner and watched socias (a local good program) and now I am here. Treated my feet and am almost ready to go to bed. Tomorrow should be low key especially if my feet are feeling better.
